Xcel Energy is monitoring for fire risk and preparing for potential power outages from the high winds.

According to Xcel Energy they are "monitoring and preparing for forecasted severe weather with high winds and low relative humidity in Texas and New Mexico."

These conditions create an elevated risk of wildfire and may lead to power outages.

To reduce the risk of wildfire, Xcel will be implementing their "Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS) and evaluating the need for potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) for some customers on Tuesday, April 1."

For more information see Xcel Energy's website where you can find an outage map and more.
