PERRYTON, Texas (KVII) — The head of the Texas Division of Emergency Management was 'humbled' by how tornado victim's in Perryton responded to the disaster.
"Governor, I was humbled by the citizens of this town," said Chief Nim Kidd. "The families that had just lost everything, they were not sitting on the curb waiting for somebody to help them. They were right in the middle of cleanup."
An EF 3 tornado hit Perryton on Thursday, killing three people and injuring more than 100 others.

"I travel the state a lot an do a lot of disasters," said Kidd. "I have never seen that kind of local community support and commitment to help themselves and to get their lives back in order. And it is it's humbling to be in this community with you."
Kidd said his team will be in Perryton until the mayor,county judge and sheriff are ready for them to go back home.
