Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management have asked residents of Potter and Randall County to survey damage from Friday's severe weather using the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT).

This damage survey is intended for those whose home, property, or business (within Potter or Randall County) was impacted by recent severe weather, wildfires, or Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS).

Survey participation helps officials gather important data that can assist in planning for debris removal, infrastructure repairs, and recovery efforts.

Amarillo OEM says the "survey is an important tool for understanding the extent of disaster impacts across our region."

They went on to note that by "reporting your damages, you are contributing to a more informed response and recovery process for Amarillo and surrounding areas."

The TDEM iSTAT survey is designed to:

  • Gather data on damage across affected areas.
  • Support efforts to determine the overall impact on communities.
  • Provide information that may assist in planning for debris removal, infrastructure repairs, and recovery efforts.
  • Ensure local and state emergency management agencies have a clearer picture of disaster effects.

Participating in this survey is voluntary and does not replace filing an insurance claim.

Amarillo OEM also added that participating in the survey "does not guarantee individual assistance but is a valuable tool in assessing the community’s needs."

You can find the survey on Amarillo OEM's Facebook or use the link here.
