ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (KVII) — A Portales student won the New Mexico Spanish Spelling Bee.

Cesar Rivera, an 8th grader at Portales Junior High, took home the state tile Saturday in Albuquerque.

He is now qualified for the National Spanish Spelling Bee. It will be held July 11-12 in Albuquerque
