Police: Tennessee man hired to mow lawn instead gets naked inside woman's home

SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WTVC) — A man from Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee who was hired to mow a woman's lawn faces charges after police say he went into the woman's home, took off all of his clothes, pushed her onto a couch and refused to let her leave.

This happened Thursday evening, according to a police report, when Soddy-Daisy Police officers responded to an assault call.

When they arrived at the home, the report says

..officers observed a male party identified as Joel Kelley in the house with no clothes on masturbating in the living room.

The report says officers tried to get the 56-year-old man to put his clothes on, but he refused. They were eventually able to put him in custody.

The woman told police that she had hired Kelley to mow her lawn. But instead of doing that, he entered her home and completely disrobed, according to the report.

That report says Kelley then

..pushed [the woman] onto the couch and did not allow her to get up while attempting to take her pants off multiple times.

That was despite the woman's efforts to push him off several times.

Officers took Kelley to the hospital to be treated for a bleeding shoulder due to a fall.

Once he was released, he was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on simple assault, aggravated burglary, sexual battery and rape charges.
