A man who was kicked out of a bar Friday afternoon led police on a brief chase before crashing.

According to Amarillo police, a man causing problems at 'Zombies' refused to leave after being kicked out, so the bar called police.

The man then stepped outside and called police claiming he had been robbed. Police later told ABC 7 News the robbery did not happen.

"At some point, he tried to shoot himself and witnesses took his gun from him," said police.

When police arrived, the man took off. Officers were trying to catch up to him when he crashed on 10th Street.

The man was taken to the hospital.

APD said the man could be arrested once he's cleared medically.
