Head-on collision near Dumas leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

MOORE COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A Dumas woman was killed and a man was injured after a head-on collision near Dumas on Tuesday night.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at about 8:50 p.m. on FFA Lane about one mile west of Dumas.

A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was eastbound on FFA Lane and a 1998 Ford Taurus, driven by Sharon Hickey, 67, was driving westbound. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Silverado traveled into the opposite lane and hit the Taurus head-on.

Hickey was taken to Moore County Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the Silverado was taken to Moore County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
