No one was inside a northeast Columbus home when a FedEx truck slammed into a house on Monday afternoon.

Nathan Stout, the homeowner, said someone called his wife about an emergency at home. When the family arrived at the house, they saw the truck sticking out of the side. Stout said the truck destroyed a first-floor bathroom and his home office.

The crash happened around 1:50 p.m. on Godeita St., officials said.

The driver was gone before Stout arrived, but the homeowner said he had nothing he wanted to say to the driver anyway.

“There's nothing to be mad about or angry at that point,” he said. “It's just OK, that's what happened, let's make sure we take care of things going forward.”

The driver was not injured and left with the company officials. Columbus police and fire officials were on hand to investigate.

Police have not filed charges at this point.
