Five new measles cases were reported in Texas panhandle since Tuesday.

Four of those are in Parmer County. The other is in Potter County.

The Potter County case is tied to a charter school in Amarillo.

On Wednesday Richard Milburn Academy confirmed the case was on its campus. The school is closed until Tuesday.

The first measles case reported by Amarillo Public Health was a Canyon ISD staffer.

There are 597 confirmed cases in Texas since late January.
